The Shouf biosphere is a 50,000 hectares of surface, one of the largest protected areas in the Middle East, designated as a UNESCO Reserve in 2005. The management of ecosystem in the Shouf biosphere focuses on five services: carbon, water provision, food provision, tourism and cultural services.
