ANIMA – How ANIMA reacts to the Covid 19 crisis

Published on 10 April 2020

All the administrators and the ANIMA team hope that you and your loved ones are doing well and send you their thoughts of solidarity at this time of global health crisis.

Given the evolution of the COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic, and the decisions taken by the authorities in the different countries with which the ANIMA network cooperates, we take this threat very seriously and have put in place specific measures to maintain our activity as much as possible while ensuring the safety of our collaborators, partners and beneficiaries.

How we manage the crisis at ANIMA

We have set up an exchange space on the internet for the members of the network, so that they can share how this unprecedented and dramatic situation is being managed in our organisations and countries. We all have to learn from each other in this period.

We will also organise a video webinar to share experiences among network members on Tuesday 21 April.

We are currently consulting with our cooperation partners on their intentions to propose digital alternatives to make up for the impossibility of face-to-face meetings, or postponements of events planned in the coming weeks. We will launch other tools for remote cooperation in the coming weeks, which were already in development before the crisis and are more necessary than ever.

The governance of the association is at its task and the board continues to meet by videoconference. The ANIMA team is also teleworking, and is always at your disposal for any exchange, by phone or email. We try to use this event to innovate, to be more respectful of the environment, supportive and responsible, while striving to meet our commitments to each and everyone as best we can.

Launch of the Impact Invest initiative

The health crisis that has been raging since then shows the weaknesses in the organisation of our societies and in our health and social protection and highlights the limits of the production and economic development models in force in most of our countries.

ANIMA has therefore decided to continue its work to develop the Impact Invest initiative for the promotion of sustainable investments, which appears more necessary than ever. Impact Invest will indeed make a practical contribution to the reflections on the new development models emerging around the Mediterranean, as it aims to develop mechanisms to align the efforts of companies with SDOs and maximise their positive impacts.

We will invite our partners to work on the design of the action plan of this initiative, which is supported by the Union for the Mediterranean, GIZ and the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur Region, during a series of online meetings starting on Tuesday 28 April 2020.

We send you our best wishes for good health and hope to see you physically again very soon.

General Delegate
