A Year of Cooperation, Innovation, and Impact
ANIMA Investment Network presents its 2024 Annual Report, reflecting a year rich in projects, partnerships, and impactful outcomes. These achievements span the improvement of the business environment, the structuring of business support ecosystems, and assistance for companies in accessing markets across Africa and the Middle East. This collective momentum is the result of the ongoing commitment of its members, partners, experts, and team—whom the organization warmly thanks.
Key Milestones Shaping the Network
Among the highlights of the year:
- The JNDA Bridge Africa Forum, held in Paris, created strong connections between African countries and their diaspora through conferences, job datings, business meetings, and investment sessions. Over 2,200 participants took part, reflecting the scale of this mobilization.n.
- The 2024 General Assembly renewed the network’s governance, with the re-election of Tarak Chérif as President for a new mandate (2025–2027), supported by a diverse Board of Directors committed to sustainable Euro-Mediterranean development.
- The ANIMA – Euromed Clusters Forward Conference, in partnership with Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis, Provence Promotion, Rising Sud, and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, brought together more than 80 international participants over three days to discuss key topics: value chain integration, ecological transitions, and North-South cooperation. Four “Mediterranean Leaders” Awards were presented during the event.
High-Impact Regional Projects
2024 also marked the implementation and scaling up of major initiatives across the Euromed region:
- Euromed Clusters Forward: Strengthening innovation ecosystems in 7 Southern Mediterranean countries, with concrete outcomes and inspiring testimonials regarding national strategies, services provided by clusters, and enhanced economic relations among partner countries.
- LinkUp Africa: Supporting 150 young Sub-Saharan students in Morocco in starting their own businesses, in connection with local support structures and their countries of origin.
- Lebanon Innovate: Building a framework for technology transfer and intellectual property to foster cooperation with Europe and contribute to Lebanon’s economic recovery.
- Call Me Blue: Supporting the development of blue economy clusters in North Africa through regional cooperation with European counterparts.
- Soft Landing Provence Africa Connect: Helping 25 African entrepreneurs expand internationally through facilitated establishment in Marseille.
Strengthened and Committed Governance
The network’s governance was shaped by 5 Board meetings and 2 General Assemblies, leading to several key decisions:
- Adoption of a new internal regulation,
- Change of bank to a more socially and environmentally responsible institution,
- Implementation of new HR processes,
- Validation of the 2022–2024 mandate review, and election of the new Board for the 2025–2027 term.
This report underscores ANIMA’s commitment to inclusive, sustainable, and cooperative economic development in the Mediterranean and beyond. The projects, forums, and decisions of 2024 lay the foundations for an ambitious future built on collective intelligence and territorial anchoring.
