This strategic annual meeting brought together numerous members of the ANIMA network and marked several key milestones for the future of the association.

Adoption of the new strategy and several key resolutions

Among the highlights of this General Assembly were:

  • The adoption of the 2024 Activity Report, now available online;
  • The presentation of the 2025 Action Plan, which you can find in our calendar;
  • And most importantly, the adoption of the 2025–2027 strategy, the result of a collaborative process launched in April with members and finalized during the Board of Directors’ seminar held in Barcelona in May.

This strategy, which will guide the network’s actions over the next three years, will be the subject of a dedicated communication very soon, in order to share its key pillars and ambitions in detail.

ANIMA Celebrates FIPA’s 30th Anniversary

Alongside the General Assembly, ANIMA participated in the conference held in Tunis to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the FIPA Tunisia investment promotion agency. On this occasion, Tarak Chérif, President of ANIMA, delivered the opening speech alongside Mr. Samir Abdelhafidh, Tunisian Minister of Economy and Planning.

In his speech, the ANIMA President praised the strong performance of North African countries and Tunisia in 2024 in terms of investment attractiveness, despite a global decline in foreign direct investment. He also emphasized the ongoing regionalization dynamic within ANIMA’s cooperation space, with European and Gulf countries being the main investors in North Africa.

Investment in Tunisia: Confidence Restored, Future in Focus

Tunisia is once again emerging as an attractive destination for foreign investors. Tarak Cherif, President of the ANIMA network and founder of CONECT, emphasizes the importance of building on existing projects, modernizing the administration, reforming tax and land regulations, and engaging the Tunisian diaspora to sustain this momentum. While global FDI is on the decline, North Africa — and Tunisia in particular — is showing remarkable growth, with $13 billion in greenfield projects announced for 2024.

A new regional strategy is also underway to strengthen economic integration around the Mediterranean and tackle key challenges such as environmental transition, digital transformation, and AI-driven innovation.
